Newborn photography Sydney

We had the pleasure of capturing Johnathan and Candice’s Wedding back in 2015! (I know what you’re thinking, This was 6 years ago! how time flies)

We were so excited to catch up again with this beautiful couple, with their new additions of their little girl Eden who is 2.5 years old and their newborn baby Ava; at just 2 weeks old, to capture a newborn photography session to capture this milestone in their lives.

Of course newborn photography sessions are easily one of our favorite appointments; Watching families grow and being able to capture those moments is so special for the families but also for us to be apart of.

Their little girl Ava was a little apprehensive when she arrived at our photo studio… As there have been so many changes for a little one of just 2.5 years old.. when her mum explained they would get photos to hang on the wall; Ava took it very literally, and was petrified thinking she was about to be hung on the wall .. This bought many tears and refusal to be in the studio.

We always allow the time for little children to settle before their photo session. After a few trips with mum up and down the stairs for a little break, and some play time with our photographer Kate, and of course many reassuring words to promise her we were just going to have some fun; Ava was ready to put on a show when it was her time to shine. Sometimes arriving for a photo session is a little much for smaller children, so we always give them time to settle. We will not pick up our camera until we know they are comfortable and ready to be photographed.

Ava blessed the studio with her giggles and smiles, she loved being allowed to jump on our bed, and cuddle with her mummy & daddy, and was super proud to be able to hold her new baby sister.

As parents we understand things are never going to go 100% smoothly; As a mum & photographer I understand that it takes a little more patience with little ones to get them to settle. Allowing that extra times means captured some truly breathtaking photographs of this beautiful family and who were incredibly happy with the outcome
