What to wear guide for your Mummy and Me session

Now you’ve booked your session time, it’s time to start thinking about what you will wear.

We recommend to wear clothes that really capture your family as they are, so we’ve put together our guide to help you select the best clothes to wear.

These are some ideas for organizing your outfits:

• We recommend that mum chooses her outfit first & then let everyone else in the family can coordinate around you. It’s really important that you love your outfit! Pick something that you feel beautiful in & that’s comfortable. Pick something that you wear day to day that you love.

• Try to avoid logos on clothes. Small logos on pockets are fine. We mean the big logos that run right across the front of a shirt.

• When selecting clothes for the family, think as if you were creating one outfit. If all your choices were somehow on one person, would the result be pleasing? Please make sure there are no logos on tops as they will dominate the image (small logos on pockets are fine).  

• arrange your outfits a few days before your session, so you are not rushed at the last minute.

• We recommend bare feet for sessions, so you don’t need to worry about shoes
  
  

  With this session we like to create 2 different looks.

First look: dark tops and dark pants or darker coloured dress. It doesn’t need to be a black top, rather just think about the darker tones working together.
Second look: a more matchy, matchy look. It can be a totally matching outfit, or outfits that look very similar.

Think around creating one casual and one more formal look.

Our best advice is to let Mum choose her outfit first and then everyone else in the family can coordinate around her. If mum’s happy then everyone’s happy!

We want the photos to be natural, so we ask that you use minimal makeup on your daughter . With teenagers makeup is fine, but please still keep it natural. With little ones, it is best to just use lipgloss.

What happens after your session:

• After your portrait session has ended, we know you’ll be as eager to see the results as we are to show them to you!

• At the end of your session we will organise a time to get together to view your images approximately a week after your session. The viewing sessions are done on weekdays between 8am and 5pm. This is the really rewarding part...... you get to re-live the fun of your photography session and view some great images. You will need to allow an hour to view your images and work out your order.

• If you have a partner or parents that are a part of the session or are interested in ordering portraits, we can organise a time that is convenient to all. You will need to make sure all decision makers are present at the purchasing session. If decisions are not made at the session, you are welcome to make a follow up appointment, however a studio fee of $100 may be charged.

• your order will be processed and completed within 3 week (slightly longer for albums)

• we will contact you to arrange a pickup time as soon as your artwork arrives

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to place my order at the time of the portrait viewing?
Yes this is the time we are able to advise you on getting the best from your photographs, so all of the decision makers in the family must be present.

Can I bring my kids to the portrait viewing session?
Our experience shows that children can be very disruptive (as we know), so we respectfully ask that they do not attend your purchasing session, so that you can focus on making your correct choices.

Can I get a USB of the images?
über photography specialise in wall décor & personalised coffee table books but we do also offer files for purchase.

How long do orders take to complete?
Orders are completed in around 3 weeks (slightly longer for albums)

Is it possible to do a payment plan for my purchase? 
A 50% deposit is required on all orders, with balance due on collection, we do offer payment plans for orders over $500. We can discuss with you the best payment option to suit you.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes we take all credit cards, including AMEX

Can I order photographs at a later date?
Of course you can order photographs at a time later than the viewing time but please note that we keep your files for only 28 days after your photography session.
