We definitely recommend you use a professional hair and make-up artist who does weddings on a regular basis. This ensures they will be practiced in doing make-up within the time restrictions of your wedding day; they generally know the schedule and running of the day and won’t cut into your photo time. It also ensures nobody is getting stressed no matter how many bridesmaids, mothers and flower girls need their make-up done.
If you don’t usually wear make-up you don’t have to go all out - opt for a more natural make-up look, it generally does make for better for photos on the day and you’ll be looking fresher for longer as the days goes on.
Make-up artists will usually provide touch up, especially if it’s a hot Sydney day and they can also provide you with tips on how to look fresh and radiant all the way through to reception.
Should I wear my hair out or is it better being up?
We have found from shooting many, many brides, that when your hair is out looks great at the beginning of the day, but keep in mind beautiful curls will drop throughout the course of the day. We must admit we've photographed weddings where if it’s windy the bride’s hair can get into peoples faces (which is not so good for photos!) and you may be constantly be brushing from their face. We tend to think wearing your hair up is better for photos, especially if it’s windy, tends to look neater for longer - plus, we get to see your radiant face more! Although, it is up to you of course but we do recommend going with something you're used to.
